Broken Glass: Common Questions

 

Can you replace just the broken glass and keep my window?

Yes. We replace the glass or the sealed double-glazed unit in your existing uPVC, aluminium or timber frame. We don't sell or fit replacement frames.

 

One pane of my double glazing is cracked but not broken through. Does it need replacing?

Usually, yes. A crack in either pane breaks the unit's seal, so moisture gets in and it starts to mist up. We replace the whole sealed unit.

 

How long does a replacement take?

We measure first. Double-glazed units are made to measure and usually take 5–10 days, sometimes quicker.

 

What glass will you fit?

The right glass for where it sits. Doors and low-level panes need toughened or laminated safety glass, and we supply fire-rated glass where it's required. Our standard double-glazed units use low iron glass, low-E coating, argon gas and a warm edge spacer.

 

Are new units guaranteed?

Yes. All our replacement units come with a 5-year parts and labour guarantee against thermal breakdown.

 

Do you replace broken glass for landlords, schools and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents, and for schools, hotels, care homes, offices and commercial buildings.

 

Which areas do you cover?

From Ashford along the M20 to Maidstone, West Malling, Folkestone and Dover, across east Kent including Canterbury, Faversham, Deal and Sandwich, and down to Tenterden, New Romney and Rye.

 

Is there a call-out charge?

No. There's no call-out charge and quotes are free.
